21 Savage is saying he’s sorry too after LeBron James apologized for posting his controversial song lyrics.
On Monday, James posted a photo with a caption quoting 21 Savage song “ASMR,” which read, “We been getting that Jewish Money, Everything is Kosher.” The post was later deleted after internet users called the words anti-Semitic.
“Apologies, for sure, if I offended anyone. That’s not why I chose to share that lyric. I always [post lyrics]. That’s what I do. I ride in my car, I listen to great music and that was the byproduct of it,” he told ESPN. “So, I actually thought it was a compliment and obviously it wasn’t through the lens of a lot of people. My apologies. It definitely was not the intent, obviously, to hurt anybody.”
Now Savage, who dropped new album “I AM>I Was” on Friday, has apologized for his words as well.
“The Jewish people I know are very wise with there [sic] money so that’s why I said we been gettin Jewish money I never thought anyone would take offense,” the “Bank Account” rapper tweeted Tuesday. “I’m sorry if I offended everybody never my intention I love all people.”
His apology seems to be getting mixed reviews with one Twitter user commenting, “bruh you killed people tf you apologizing for ab a lyric for,” and another writing, “You should apologize to the asthma community also, for all that smoke.”
