2010 IS THE YEAR OF SNITCHIN ON YOURSELF! BRITISH TV HOST CONFESSES ON AIR THAT HE KILLED HIS GAY LOVER THAT WAS DYING OF AIDS!

Cops have arrested a British TV presenter for murder following his shocking on-air confession to smothering an AIDS-stricken lover.

Veteran TV and radio host Ray Gosling made the admission on a BBC show dedicated to end-of-life issues that was broadcast Monday night.

"Nottinghamshire Police has this morning arrested a 70-year-old Nottingham man on suspicion of murder following comments on the BBC's 'Inside Out' program on Monday evening," a police spokesman told the U.K.'s Daily Mail.

Gosling was visited by his lawyer, Digby Johnson, at the Nottingham police station in which he was being held.

"There's very little to say at this early stage," Johnson told the newspaper.

"Ray has been at the police station now for approaching five hours and the investigation is at a very, very early stage."

He reportedly described Gosling as being "in good spirits."

Cops launched their probe after an emotional Gosling described smothering a dying lover on the show "Inside Out."

"I killed someone once. . . . He was a young chap, he’d been my lover and he got AIDS," Gosling told viewers, as he walked through a cemetery weeping.

After the broadcast, Gosling told interviewers he was unafraid of possible criminal repercussions.

"They can try. I'm not going to tell them anything," he reportedly told “BBC Breakfast News.” "I'm not going to tell them anything. That was the pact. We had a pact."

Cops say the BBC had not alerted them ahead of time to the confession. The episode is thought to have been taped last fall.

Assisting in a person's death is illegal in England and Wales under a 1961 law, and carries a penalty of up to 14 years in jail.
