Getting a seat on the subway can sometimes be difficult, but it should never come to this.
Video of a savage subway beatdown reportedly shows two men who got into a vicious fight over that very thing, CBS News reported.
The incident reportedly happened at the 53rd St. and Lexington Ave. station, but it is unclear if it was on the M or E train, according to the YouTube user who claimed to have recorded the fight, ShugalG.
While the video was posted June 12, it also isn't known which day it took place.
"I was reading an article on the train on my iPad2 on my way to work, when I got off the train I heard a heated argument and saw fists start to fly," the person wrote via YouTube.
"I immediately turned on my camera and began to record when I noticed the doors closed but the train (did) not move - thinking police might need the video as evidence of the crime, I kept recording," ShugalG wrote.
Captured from the platform, the video is shot through the train's windows and shows two men fighting. One man in a Hawaiian shirt is holding another's hair, pounding his fist into the man's face more than a dozen times.
Two others, a man and a woman, struggle to separate the pair. Others are visible in the subway car, but seem to keep their distance.
A person is briefly seen outside the subway banging on the door.
It is unclear who started the fight, but it reportedly began over a seat.
The video runs for about a minute and 40 seconds, but the YouTube user claims the fight continued even after the doors finally opened. Police were eventually called, but it is not known if any arrests were made.
