19 YEAR OLD STABBED TO DEATH BEFORE HE MET HIS INFANT SON!

A young father planning to meet his baby son for the first time was fatally stabbed in Harlem early Saturday.

Darkel Cooper, 19, was attacked around 2:40 a.m. on W. 159th St. and St. Nicholas Ave. and collapsed on the blood-stained pavement.

He was taken to Columbia Presbyterian Hospital, where he died a half-hour later, police said.

"I spoke to him yesterday," said Cooper's father, Lloyd Liburd, 53. "He wanted money to move his girlfriend and baby son back to the city to live with him."

Cooper, who had a robbery conviction, lived in the Bronx but often visited the Harlem neighborhood where his parents still live.

His pregnant girlfriend left the city and moved south last year, and Cooper was hoping to finally see the 9-month-old baby in person.

"He only saw pictures on the computer," said his mother, Jean Cooper.

"He just got into a job training program," she said.

No arrests have been made. The motive was unclear.

Meanwhile, two Brooklyn teens were arrested in Williamsburg for stabbing a man, police said Saturday.

Pablo Soto and Ivan Payamps, both 16, were nabbed after the Friday night mayhem on S. Third and Roebling Sts. The victim, who was not identified, was in critical condition at Bellevue Hospital, police said.

Soto and Payamps were charged with gang assault. Police were investigating the motive.
