Philadelphia Man May Have Been Killed Over Posting Stacks On Facebook

A Philadelphia man who posted a picture of his wife with stacks of cash on Facebook was killed in an apparent home invasion a week later, authorities said.

Tony Harris, 50, took a bullet in the head after three masked men burst into his South Ruby St. home on Monday, police said.

Before Harris was shot, the three goons — believed to be between 17 and 19 years old — held him and his wife at gunpoint, and demanded cash.

It was not immediately clear if the intruders were searching for the wad of bills Harris posted on Facebook on Oct. 5.

“I misplaced $60,000,” Harris wrote. “I hope my wife didn’t go shopping with it.”

But Harris' nephew, Anthony Fleming, told Philly.com that the post was a joke. He said the stacks of cash were simply piles of $1 bills with $20 bills on top to make them appear to be more valuable.

Harries died early Tuesday morning at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania.

Philadelphia Police Capt. James Clark told the website that investigators were aware of the post and said there was a possible connection to the murder. But he warned that the investigation was still in the early stages.
