LMAO! 5 PEOPLE INJURED IN A STAMPEDE FOR SECTION 8 ON THE WELFARE LINE!

A free-for-all erupted among a crowd of 5,000 people lined up in Dallas for a shot at scoring hard-to-land housing vouchers to help cover their rent.
The would-be applicants - including some who camped out overnight - were outside the Jesse Owens Memorial Complex when the stampede started Thursday morning, authorities said.

The crowd arrived to fill out applications for the 100 available vouchers after an April attempt to handle the process online crashed the Dallas Housing Authority software.

The second try ended with another crash as hundreds in the crowd broke free of the lines and stormed the complex. About a dozen people suffered bumps and bruises, with some applicants knocked to the ground and stepped on.

"People were pushing and fighting," victim Jordan Spivey told WFAA-TV. "Everybody just started running. And I mean, I just saw people run and I slipped and fell over the pavement - skinned my knee, my elbow and lost a cell phone battery."

Local law enforcement engaged in a bit of post-scuffle fingerpointing, with the Dallas Sheriff's office blaming local police - and the cops responding they were excluded from planning security.

The kicker to the whole thing: Applicants who rushed the doors may have to wait up to two years before receiving the Section 8 vouchers.
