Future Thinks Jay-Z Should Be ‘Bigging Up’ The Rap Community

Future doesn’t have time for someone poking fun at him.

During a visit to Atlanta’s Hot 107.9, the rapper, 35, finally addressed Jay-Z’s line about him off of the latter’s 2017 album “4:44.”

On the album’s opener, “Kill Jay-Z,” Hov rapped, “I don’t even know what you woulda done / In the future other n—as playin’ football with your son.”

While he didn’t mention Future by name, the lyrics seemed like a clear allusion to Future, whose ex-fiancee, Ciara, who he shares a child with, went on to marry NFL star Russell Wilson after their breakup.

First saying that Jay-Z told him he didn’t mean it that way, he went on to say, “You’re supposed to be bigging up the rap community. … We come from the trenches. You come from the street, I come from the street. … You not supposed to be giving that no negative attention for a hot line that’s always gonna be out.”

While he clearly seemed to have been irked by the line, Future claimed he wasn’t bothered by it at all.

“It is what it is,” he said. “I’m not even tripping off him.”

Of course, it’s possible that the rapper, who previously never shied away from saying provocative things about others, has turned over a new leaf.

On Wednesday’s episode of “Freebandz Radio, he was adamant that he has no issue with Wilson, despite repeatedly giving off the impression he does in the past.

“We don’t have no problems,” he said. “It’s a social media problem. No, I don’t hate him. Totally not the deal. It was just the way we were carrying it, as far as being handled with baby Future. I don’t have nothing against [Wilson] and I’m happy for them.”
