DMX Performs At NYC Nightclub Days After Collapse

DMX seemed ready to party up just days after being revived from the brink of death.

The 45-year-old rapper was photographed arriving to perform at the Lively nightclub in the Meatpacking District early Friday morning — an astounding turn of events considering his collapse in a Yonkers hotel parking lot four days earlier.

Local police said they found DMX — whose real name is Earl Simmons — without a pulse and not breathing when they arrived at the lot. Officers performed CPR and administered oxygen to successfully revive him.

"He bounced right back," his lawyer, Murray Richman, told the Daily News on Wednesday. "He's doing fine. He's going to be performing Saturday in Pennsylvania."

Cops classified the ordeal as a possible overdose, sources told TMZ, which first reported the news. But Richman claimed it was an asthma attack.

Having sold more than 30 million albums worldwide, DMX was one of the biggest rappers of the 1990s and early 2000s. But he's been more known in recent years for his rap sheet than his rap songs.

Over the years he has compiled more than a dozen arrests, including a bizarre 2004 incident in which he crashed a car through a parking lot gate at Kennedy Airport, screaming that he was a government agent.

He was sentenced to 90 days in jail for animal cruelty and drug possession after a raid of his Arizona home netted dead and malnourished pit bulls.

The "What's My Name?" rapper was sentenced to six months in jail last July for failing to pay $400,000 worth of child support. He was released two months later — only to be arrested again in December after he missed a court hearing.

Photos posted to Instagram by club-goers Friday, however, show him on stage at the Lively looking no worse for wear. The hour-long headlining set was part of the festivities at New York Fashion Week.

He also posted a photo of himself on his own Facebook page early Friday to reassure his fans.
