Meek Mill Concert Shooting Case Gets Dropped

Rapper Meek Mill is finally done battling in court over a shooting that took place outside a 2016 concert.

The family of a man named Travis Ward, who was killed in the shooting, have informed the court they are dropping their case against Meek. They state all claims against defendants are dismissed and the case is closed.

The shooting occurred in a parking lot outside the venue of Meek’s 2016 concert in Connecticut. Meek was facing three separate lawsuits over the incident but has now shut them all down. At one point, the families offered to settle with Meek for $3 million dollars.

The cases were filed against Meek, Live Nation and the Oakdale Musical Theatre Company. They accused the defendants of negligence in hiring security. One suit even tried to argue Meek’s rap lyrics incited violence. They tried to say the rapper had a history of shootings at his shows, which the rapper said was an absurd argument.

Earlier this month, Meek had a separate wrongful death lawsuit filed by the estate of Jaquan Graves dismissed. The family voluntarily dropped their case against the rapper after battling it out in court for over a year.
