Will.i.am Could Possibly Face Lawsuit Over Airline Racism Claims

Qantas Airlines is not only denying rapper Will.i.am’s claim that a flight attendant racially targeted him during a trip from Brisbane to Sydney, but is prepared to back a lawsuit against the musician if he refuses to retract those allegations.

“Absent a retraction, and if the crew member wanted to take the matter further, we’d certainly be willing to provide legal support for them to do this,” a spokesperson told CNN.

The Black Eyed Peas frontman, 44, alleged on Saturday that an “overly aggressive” female flight attendant was “beyond rude” to him because he didn’t hear an announcement for passengers to put away their electronics.

“I don’t want to believe she [is] racist. But she has clearly aimed all her frustrations only at the people of color,” he wrote after sharing a photo and the legal name of the airline employee, adding “#RacistFlightattendant.”

After complying, the producer was met by five police officers upon landing.

“I did comply quickly and politely, only to be greeted by police,” he tweeted. “I think I was targeted.”

In an interview with The Daily Telegraph, the former “The Voice” judge said he doesn’t want the flight attendant to lose her source of income, but suggested she “be retrained on how to deal with people.”
