JAY-Z Will Be The First Guest On CNN’s New ‘The Van Jones Show’

"The Van Jones Show" is starting off in a star-studded way.

The new CNN series, which debuts on Jan. 27, will feature JAY-Z as the first guest on the show hosted by activist and former Obama administration policy adviser.

The rapper will help launch the series by discussing his latest album "4:44" and activist.

The album "is a real social justice classic, and I want to talk to him about that," Jones said, adding they would also address topics such as economics and race, Variety reported.

Jones is a client of JAY-Z's through his entertainment company, Roc Nation.

"I didn't have to Google to find the phone number," he joked to Variety.

"This is an opportunity to really reflect on where we are and where we are going," Anthony Kapel "Van" Jones says of "The Van Jones Show," which will be taped in front of a live audience.

Jones will be using social media, live-crowd interaction and taped segments of visits with people across America in order to take a look at the trends shaping the upcoming 2018 and 2020 elections, according to Variety.

"The Van Jones Show" will play opposite "Fox News Report" on Fox News Channel. It will air on Jan. 27 at 7 p.m.

He previously worked on the network on a revival of "Crossfire" and a number of town hall programs.

Jones also plans to launch another CNN series "The Redemption Project" about criminal justice later this year.
