Young Thug Talks Lil Wayne Bus Shooting

Young Thug wasn't involved in the shooting of Lil Wayne's tour bus. That's what the 23-year-old stated when he spoke with The New York Times recently.

At this point, it's common knowledge that Thugster's name was tied up with the shooting and currently a man by the name of Jimmy Winfrey has been arrested for being the trigger-man. Winfrey also happens to be an associate of Young Thug.

Regardless of that fact, however, the "Halftime" writer said he would never involve himself in something so criminal, especially not now when he's becoming so successful.

"I got millions to get," he said. "I'm not running around shooting no d---- bus."

Thug also said that he's baffled as to why Wayne has a problem with him. If you recall, the beef between the two rappers began when Thugster announced that he was naming his mixtape "The Carter 6," which ended being "Barta 6" for copyright reasons.

Additionally, the Atlanta rapper said he's always been vocal about his admiration for Wayne and doesn't know why his actions are taken as disses and nothing else. He also said naming his mixtape "Barta 6" wasn't a move in passive aggression, it was a move to honor the Young Money spitter.

"I'm not just being lame or trying to do something smooth," he explained. "I told the whole world you my idol, and whenever you stop I'm going to keep going."

Plus, the way Thugster sees it, he and Weezy both benefited from Baby and belong to the same extended family.

"Both of us grew up the same thing, the same gang. "Y.M.C.M.B.," he said. "Why should you ever in your life even feel like we against each other?"

Wayne hasn't responded to any of this yet, but it looks like we all could be at the tail end of this long drawn out battle, which wouldn't be a bad thing at all.
