A woman told Chicago cops that she was sexually assaulted at what she believes was R. Kelly‘s former studio.
The 31-year-old was picked up around 3:54 a.m. Thursday just a few blocks from the embattled artist’s former studio and brought to Rush Hospital, where she was treated for the sexual assault, the Chicago Sun-Times reported.
Authorities had received a report over a city-wide scanner that a woman was raped by three men at a building she identified as the R&B singer’s music studio.
Police confirmed the contents of the call, but said authorities have been unable to determine the exact location of the alleged assault.
The woman told police she was approached by three men in a vehicle while she was at a bar.
She climbed into the car and was brought to the building she believes was the rapper’s former studio, where two of the men sexually assaulted her.
The woman told authorities she left and called 911 before authorities responded to the scene.
The Grammy-winning star, who’s facing 18 charges for sexually abusing four women, vacated the building in February after a judge placed a strict curfew on the use of the premises.
City attorneys claimed the studio was being used illegally as living space, but had so many building code violations that it was “too potentially dangerous to allow the tenant to use the building at all.”
