R. Kelly Charged With 11 New Counts Of Sexual Assault And Abuse

R. Kelly was charged with 11 additional felony counts of sexual abuse on Thursday, including some that carry a maximum sentence of 30 years in prison. The new charges against Kelly, 52, stem from the sexual abuse of Jerhonda Pace, then a minor, that allegedly took place in 2010. Pace told her story of alleged abuse in a docu-series called "Surviving R. Kelly."

The charges include four counts of aggravated criminal sex assault, three counts of aggravated criminal sexual abuse of a victim between the ages of 13 and 16, two counts of criminal sex assault by force and two counts of aggravated criminal sex abuse, according to court records.

In a Facebook post Thursday, Pace said the abuse charged against Kelly are related to her case. "No matter how wrong you think I am, the law is on my side, a minor at the time," she wrote.

Kelly's attorney Steve Greenberg told CBS News the charges allege Kelly choked and forced the victim to perform oral sex on him on several occasions. Kelly denies any wrongdoing.

In February, Kelly turned himself in to Chicago police after he was charged with 10 counts of sexual abuse, which involve four women, some of them minors.

In a tearful and sometimes combative interview with "CBS This Morning" anchor Gayle King, Kelly said the allegations against him were all lies.

The singer remains free on $1 million bond and is due back here in court next Thursday.
