Prosecutors Want R. Kelly Medical Records Sealed In Bid To Expedite Case

Brooklyn prosecutors are asking the judge in R. Kelly’s sex-crimes case to keep a lid on some of the “sensitive information” gathered, including medical records, to expedite proceedings, according to papers filed Friday.

Federal prosecutors did not provide any details as to11. ios exactly what is included in those materials other than they are financial and medical documents. The feds said they have yet to turn them over to lawyers for the 52-year-old fallen crooner, whose real name is Robert Sylvester Kelly.

The prosecutors have asked a judge to keep the materials under seal so that the process of poring over the evidence could be expedited.

Kelly is accused of racketeering and the sexual exploitation of children. He allegedly sexually exploited at least five girls and women since January 1999 in Illinois, California, New York, Connecticut and other locales. He made the females call him “Daddy” and wouldn’t let them eat or leave the room without his say-so, authorities say.

He also has been accused by at least one woman of giving her a sexually transmitted disease.

In addition to the charges he faces in Brooklyn federal court, Kelly has also been hit with sex-crime charges in Chicago and Minneapolis.
