Post Malone & 21 Savage's 'Rockstar' Is Now Certified Platinum

Post Malone and 21 Savage’s “Rockstar” is embarking on a month at the top, after notching a fourth consecutive week at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100. The smash record is the longest running hip-hop song to top the charts since Rae Sremmurd’s “Black Beatles.” According to the RIAA, “Rockstar” is now certified platinum, which means 1 million equivalent album units have been earned in the U.S.

One equivalent album unit is equal to: one album sale, 10 tracks sold from an album, or 1,500 on-demand audio and/or video streams from an album.

Republic Records re-uploaded the full version of the track to YouTube after backlash from fans, as the official audio initially only contained the hook to the song and no verses in an effort to deceitfully boost plays. However, comments are still disabled for the video.

Posty recently published a photo to social media of 21 and himself on set, which can be inferred to mean the tune’s visual is finally on the way. “Rockstar” was the most streamed song in the country for a fifth week with over 46 million plays. The braggadocios record will serve as the lead single to Malone’s upcoming sophomore album, Beerbongs & Bentleys.
