OPRAH ACCUSED OF STEALING "OWN YOUR POWER" SLOGAN!

Oprah Winfrey: talk show host, producer, philanthropist and thief?

That's what one New Jersey woman is claiming.

Winfrey is being sued by a woman who says the OWN CEO stole her slogan "Own Your Power."

In the suit, Simone Kelly-Brown, CEO of Own Your Power Communications INC., says that her company created the phase, the acronym OYP and the notion that people can "live their best life" if they believe that "anything you want in life is attainable," according to Entertainment Weekly.

And they are not happy that Winfrey has been using the infamous motto for years.

The plaintiffs say in the court papers, which were filed in New Jersey on Thursday, that they are seeking an unspecified amount of damages to reverse Winfrey and her production studio Harpo's "brazenly unlawful disregard for the existence and use of [OYP's] trademark."

OYP Communications argues it has been overwhelmed by the larger and better-known Winfrey and has been "irreparably harmed."

The suit also says that the trademark infringement started with the October 2010 issue of Oprah's O Magazine, which included the headline "Own Your Power." Then, the magazine directed readers to a section of O's website called Own Your Power.

But Kelly-Brown claims that the last straw occurred when her company and Oprah threw "Own Your Power" events in the same city, just days apart.

A Harpo spokesperson issued a statement to EW, saying, "Harpo has not been served and we have no information about what allegations are being made."
