NAKED WOMAN FOUND WITH HER THROAT SLASHED IN A RITZY MANHATTAN HOTEL & THE HEAD OF HOUSEKEEPING IS ARRESTED!

The head of housekeeping at the ritzy Manhattan hotel where a naked woman was found stabbed to death has been arrested in connection with the grisly slaying, police said Sunday.

Derrick Praileau, 29, was arrested early this morning, but no charges have been filed against him, police said.

Police sources said Praileau, a worker at the famed Essex House on Central Park South, was seen on surveillance video entering Andree (Sara) Bejjani's condo around the time of her death.

Bejjani, the president of a Duabi-based real estate investment firm, was found in the kitchen of her 10th-floor home Saturday with a 10-inch knife lodged in her neck, police said.

She was naked, her dress pulled over her head, the sources said.

Praileau's hotel swipe card indicated that he was the last person in Bejjani's room before her body was discovered by a hotel maid, the sources said.

Praileau, a father of two from the Bronx, is being held at the Midtown North Precinct. He admitted to detectives that he was in the room with the nude corpse but did not confess to killing Bejjani, the sources said.

The motive for the murder remains unknown, investigators said.

Bejjani was last seen Friday at 8:45 p.m. and investigators believe she was killed early Saturday.

Bejjani, who was originally from Lebanon, was the president of Royal Investments, LLC based in the United Arab Emirates, according to several web sites. She subletted an apartment in the tony building where homes go for $7,000 a month and up.

There was no sign of forced entry in her condo and nothing appeared to have been stolen. Investigators do not believe she was sexually assaulted but are running further tests.

Police were reviewing surveillance videos and interviewing employees at the hotel, which converted some of its rooms into condos.

The 43-story Essex House, long a favorite hotel for celebrities, is located just steps from Central Park. Its management put a statement Saturday expressing condolences to the victim's family but has declined further comment.
