Mourner Arrested After Rapper Prodigy’s Memorial

A memorial for rapper Prodigy ended in a scuffle between one of the mourners and cops before he was hauled off in handcuffs, according to sources.

A video obtained by TMZ shows a police officer pushing the man across the street from the Frank E. Campbell Funeral Chapel in Manhattan as a large crowd gathers.

Police told the suspect — identified as Samuel Williams, 37, of Baldwin, NY — to move to the other side of the street because he was blocking pedestrians, sources told The Post.

Williams refused, mouthed off at cops and became belligerent as he began swinging his arms, sources said.

A dozen officers converged at the scene when the fight escalated as Williams refused to be arrested. No punches were actually exchanged in the altercation shortly after 5 p.m., sources said.

Williams was charged with resisting arrest, obstruction and disorderly conduct. He has five prior arrests on undisclosed charges.

The Mobb Deep rapper died June 20 at age 42 after being hospitalized in Las Vegas with complications related to a long-term battle with sickle cell anemia.
