“After two years of marriage, we have come to the loving conclusion that we are much better as friends. As entertainers, we have made every aspect of our lives public, yet we would appreciate your respect and privacy on this issue,” the rapper wrote in a statement posted to Twitter Tuesday.
On Friday, TMZ reported that Logic, 28, and Andrea, 25, had decided to separate after two years of marriage.
While the “1-800-273-8255” emcee, whose real name is Sir Robert Bryson Hall II, did not go into details about the cause of the split, he asked fans not to participate in the speculation that has gone on since the news broke.
“It’s very simple: it just didn’t work out,” he continued. “There is no anger involved. No fighting, no cheating, no nothing. We love each other and will continue to support each other for the rest of our lives.”
He also asked fans not to be sad, writing, “There are no sides, there is just us. Two people who loved each other in marriage and will continue for the rest of our lives. =)”
Andrea echoed his sentiments, retweeting the statement with a note of her own that read, “I love you Bobby and love to all the fans!”
On Sunday, it was revealed that the rapper’s new mixtape, “Bobby Tarantino II,” debuted atop the Billboard 200 chart, making it his second No. 1 album.
