Lil Xan Checks Into Rehab For Opioid Addiction

Lil Xan is finally in rehab.

Two weeks after the 22-year-old rapper, whose real name is Diego Leanos, announced his plans to seek treatment, his girlfriend, Annie Smith, confirmed on Instagram Sunday that he had checked himself into a facility.

“Diego was just admitted into his first treatment,” Smith wrote. “He loves each and every one of you sending good wishes and prayers to him. We thank you all so very much for all of the love and support you are sending his way. He will be back soon with another top 10 album we love you all xanarchy family !”

In another Instagram post, she explained that the delay was because of booking issues at the rehab center.

“It’s a tricky thing since people are coming in and out of the facility so often that rooms end up getting switched around and dates can be pushed back,” she wrote, before adding, “Please keep him in your prayers, he is doing his best right now to find peace with himself.”

On Nov. 14, Xan dropped a new EP on Soundcloud and announced he was days away from entering rehab to help him kick an opioid problem.

Shortly after the announcement, he told TMZ, “I’ve actually been ten times worse than what I am now. But I want to do rehab so I can get over this last little, like, hump — like, stretch — so I can finally get back to being Diego.”

He also said he planned to retire his current stage name — a reference to Xanax — and go simply by DIEGO from here on out.
