The dirty results prompted an emergency meeting between the Nye County Sheriff and the District Attorney on Monday regarding what to do with the former NBA player who almost died in a Nevada brothel on Oct. 13, a sheriff source told the Daily News.
TMZ.com was first to report that the blood drawn from Odom at a hospital in Las Vegas showed cocaine.
Previously, Nye County Sheriff Sharon Wehrly said criminal charges were “distinctly possible” if Odom was using illegal drugs in her county.
Investigators got the search warrant to test the former Laker’s blood after speaking with the prostitutes who found him unconscious and bleeding from his nose inside the Love Ranch.
The prostitutes said they heard Odom snorting something inside a bathroom, a search warrant affidavit obtained by The News said.
“Through interviews with the prostitutes who were with him since that point, it was learned that he possibly ingested cocaine in the bathroom,” Nye County Sheriff’s Detective Michael Eisenloffel said in his sworn testimony seeking the warrant.
“They indicated that they heard him snorting,” a transcript of the testimony given at 10:15 p.m. the day Odom was hospitalized said.
“They indicated that they had vague knowledge of him using illicit narcotics,” Eisenloffel said, referring to hookers Ryder Cherry and Monica Monroe.
Eisenloffel also said Odom was seen popping a mystery pill.
“During his initial time at the Love Ranch, he was observed both by eyewitnesses as well as on video surveillance camera to be ingesting an unknown substance in the form of an unidentified pill, which he obtained from his pocket in a plastic bag that was unmarked,” he told the judge.
After finding Odom unconscious and calling for help, Love Ranch staffers told authorities he used cocaine three days before his collapse and combined alcohol and herbal Viagra during his brothel bender, Sheriff Wehrly said at an Oct. 14 press conference.
Odom's health crisis took place about 80 miles northwest of Sin City. He racked up a $75,000 bill on his credit card, brothel owner Dennis Hof said.
Hof told The News last week that Odom agreed to the amount ahead of time, provided his driver’s license and signed his credit card receipts.
Odom, 35, remains hospitalized in Los Angeles after he was transferred from Sunrise Hospital in Las Vegas to southern California last week.
An Odom family spokeswoman said he took his first steps in Los Angeles, but E! News later reported he was battling pneumonia and needed emergency surgery.
Hof said he will sue Odom and wife Khloe Kardashian if they don’t pay his tab in full.
Kardashian, 31, rushed to Odom’s side in Las Vegas and appears to be giving their marriage another shot.
The couple shocked fans Wednesday when they asked a Los Angeles judge to dismiss their pending divorce paperwork.
