John Legend Is Helping Former Inmates Find Jobs

Singer John Legend is launching a drive to provide job training for the previously incarcerated.

He announced the new initiative “Unlocked Futures” at the Town & Country Philanthropy Summit to provide grants and training for those who’ve spent time in jail.

“Sometimes it is hard to get hired so you have to hire yourself. I have [teamed] with New Profit and Bank of America to reinvest in formerly incarcerated entrepreneurs,” the crooner said in a Hearst Tower conversation with Valerie Jarrett.
