IN THE STREETS & ON THE WEB

Janet Jackson won’t cancel her dates in Houston and Austin, Texas, this weekend despite widespread damage from Hurricane Harvey.

“We’re going to roll in early because we wanted to visit some of the shelters,” Jackson shared Wednesday on Twitter. “And not just visit some of the shelters, we also want to do something special for the victims. So, we’ll see you Friday!”

Jackson’s State of the World Tour kicks off Thursday night in Louisiana and heads to Houston on Sept. 9 and then to Austin on Sept. 10.

It’s unclear which shelters Jackson, 51, plans to visit.

Since the Texas area was hit hard last week, celebrities have stepped up to donate to relief funds, like Jimmy Fallon, Sandra Bullock, Leonardo DiCaprio and Rachael Ray, who have each donated $1 million.

A one-hour telethon, “Hand In Hand,” is set for Sept. 12 and will feature Beyoncé, George Clooney, Julia Roberts, Oprah Winfrey and more.
