CIARA SAYS SHE'S NOT SORRY FOR GOING IN ON JIVE!

Ciara has no regrets over last week’s Facebook post in which she asked Jive Records to release her. The R&B star spoke with MTV News and said her comments were an honest expression of her feelings. She states, quote,

“My letter was a message to my fans, and it came from a real place and I just wanted my fans to know where I was.” In a letter titled “My Time To Speak,” Ciara said she wanted to be dropped from Jive, noting that they no longer share the same opinions about her career. The “Ride” singer said she had spent thousands of her own dollars to promote her music, but hasn’t received the same type of support from Jive. Ciara concluded by saying that with the right label she will be able to give fans a, quote, “new music energy and a visual excitement.”

Ciara’s last release was 2010’s “Basic Instinct.” The record debuted at number 44 on the Billboard 200 with first-week sales of 37-thousand. “Basic Instinct” was Ciara’s follow-up to 2009’s “Fantasy Ride,” which opened at number three on the Billboard 200.
