Cardi B Says Nicki Minaj ‘Really Hurt’ Her Feelings During Feud

Cardi B and Nicki Minaj finally addressed their beef during Monday night’s Met Gala.

“I never was feuding with anybody; there was a misunderstanding,” Cardi, 25, told Howard Stern on Wednesday of her alleged feud with the “Pink Friday” MC. “I think she felt a certain type of way about something. I definitely felt a certain type of way about something. I didn’t wanna ever talk about it in public because I felt like, ‘We gonna see each other again and we will talk about it.’ And it’s always like, little issues … but you know, fans are always gonna make it a big thing.”

She added, “I spoke to her about it. I spoke to her at the Met Gala about it, and it’s just like, ‘See?’ It’s just something that had to be talked about because it was an issue.”

As for what the specific issue was, Cardi was less forthcoming.

“I’m not gonna talk about it, but I really feel a certain type of way. My feelings was really hurt, and I was just on some, ‘You know what? This is why I just keep to myself. This is why I cannot f—k with nobody,’” she said.

Minaj, however, has been more than happy to spill the tea on the supposed feud.

At fashion’s biggest night on Monday, Minaj, 35, told a reporter that she was wearing devil red because she’s “the bad guy.”

Minaj previously lamented that it was “entertaining to make Nicki seem like a bad guy” after rumors emerged that she was beefing with Cardi after Cardi reportedly told press that Minaj changed her “Motorsport” verse after learning the “Bodak Yellow” rapper would also be featured on the track. It was rumored that the women refused to film the song’s music video together, though Minaj insisted it was a scheduling conflict between their shared hairstylist that led to the separate shoots. (And as it turned out, Minaj did, in fact, change her verse.)

Still, Cardi was diplomatic, blaming overall sexism and prejudices for the feud.

“The media, they just so thirsty to put women in hip-hop — not just women in hip-hop, color women — against each other,” Cardi griped. “I don’t understand why they do that and why they want to do that. Like, I’ve seen so many Hispanic artists — females — work with each other, and it benefits them so well.”

Perhaps Cardi didn’t want to dwell on it because she had so much other drama to deal with at the Met Ball, where she and Minaj were both guests of designer Jeremy Scott: A member of Cardi’s entourage slugged an autograph seeker outside of the bash, and her fiancé, Migos rapper Offset, had a $150,000 chain go missing at the party.
