BEYONCE SHOWS HER SUPPORT FOR SAME SEX MARRIAGE

The “Single Ladies” songstress made her sympathies clear Wednesday in a hand-written note posted on Facebook.

“If you like it you should be able to put a ring on it,” she wrote, riffing on her mega-hit single.

She captioned the photo “# we will unite 4 marriage equality!”

The diva dished after the Supreme Court heard arguments about California’s controversial Proposition 8, which bans gay marriage, and as the supremes were preparing to debate the Defense of Marriage Act.

That act also says “You can’t” to gays desiring to say, “I do.”

Beyoncé is a Facebook force to be reckoned with — nearly 45 million people have “liked” her page. That’s more than the population of Poland.

Beyoncé is married to rapper Jay-Z. Both have spoken out in favor of marriage equality. And both have praised their pal President Obama for endorsing same-sex marriage.

In an earlier interview on CNN, Beyoncé likened the discrimination against gays to the historic plight of black people.

“It’s no different than discriminating against blacks,” she said. “It’s discrimination, plain and simple.”

Not to be outdone, another outspoken singer also chimed in Tuesday with support for gay marriage on her Facebook page.

"Marriage equality, let’s start a revolution,” Madonna wrote.

The twice divorced “Material Girl” is currently a single lady.

Other show biz stars have voiced support for gay marriage, including Ben Affleck, Susan Sarandon, Brad Pitt, Lena Dunham, Kanye West, Drew Barrymore, Julianne Moore, Sean Penn, Lady Gaga, Justin Timberlake and Betty White.

Rob Reiner, who sits on the board of the American Foundation for Equal Rights, was in the courtroom for the opening arguments Tuesday.

“Today I'm thinking of the Supreme Court,” Ellen DeGeneres, who is married to Portia de Rossi, tweeted. “I hope they remember what makes our country great, and support equality for all.”

It’s not just the liberals who say gays should be able to marry. Conservatives like Clint Eastwood back that, too. So does shock jock Howard Stern.

Hollywood, however, does not walk in lockstep. Actors like Kirk Cameron and Victoria Jackson are on the record opposing gay marriage.
