IN THE STREETS & ON THE WEB

Alicia Keys is hosting the Grammys for the second year in a row, the Recording Academy announced late Wednesday.

“At first I did think last year was a one-time thing but when the opportunity came back around there was no question about returning as host of the GRAMMY Awards,” the singer, 38, said in a statement. “Last year was such a powerful experience for me. Not only did I feel the love in the room, but I felt it from around the world and it confirmed the healing and unifying power of music.”

The 62nd annual Grammys takes place on Jan. 26, 2020, at the Staples Center in Los Angeles, with CBS broadcasting it live at 8 p.m. ET/5 p.m. PT. The nominees are slated to be announced on Nov. 20.

LL Cool J was the Grammys’ longtime host before “Late Late Show” host James Corden took the reins in 2017 and 2018. Keys, who has won 15 Grammys herself, nabbed the hosting gig for 2019 and now 2020.
