2 Chainz Bodyguard Ordered To Stay Away From Photographer

A bodyguard for rapper 2 Chainz has to stay far away from a celebrity videographer he’s accused of roughing up, a Manhattan Criminal Court judge ruled Wednesday.

An order of protection was issued against Rory Smith for the alleged Oct. 27 attack on R.J. Capak outside NBC studios in Midtown.

Capak was waiting to film actress Rose McGowan when the paparazzi got a heads up that the rapper was en route.

The 64-year-old shutterbug said he began filming 2 Chainz, born Tauheed Epps, as the Atlanta-based entertainer walked into 30 Rockefeller Plaza.

According to Capak, Smith made sure to keep the cameramen away from 2 Chainz, who has relied on crutches to get around since breaking his leg in August.

But then Smith charged at Capak, the videographer said, brandishing one of 2 Chainz’s crutches.

“The bodyguard came at me with the crutch like he’s gonna joust me,” Capak told the Daily News a week after the attack.

Smith is charged with assault, attempted assault and harassment.

Capak is suing Smith and the Georgia-born performer, whose real name is Tauheed Epps.

“I still have pain,” Capak said Wednesday. “I feel like I'm just dazed a little bit... Sort of like if you have a hangover.”

He said he requested the order of protection through he district attorney “to make sure all those possibilities of harassment would just be shut down.”

Capak's lawyer Sanford Rubenstein said he hopes the case will “shine a light on the fact that when a photographer is doing this job he shouldn't be assaulted.”
