Looks like that multi-million dollar deal L.A. Reid cut with rapper Shyne pushed the Def Jam board over the edge. We hear he just got his pink slip yesterday. News on Mr. Reid getting AXED when you read on...

MOS DEF SUED OVER CANCELED SHOW!

Rapper Mos Def is accused of recently bailing on a gig 24 hours before it was set to go off and causing the promoter to take a $57,000 hit ... this according to a new lawsuit. According to the documents -- filed today in L.A. County Superior Court and obtained by TMZ -- Mos was paid a $12,500 deposit to do a show at the Kool Haus in Toronto back on February 25.

SHEEK LOUCH GETS SIGNED TO DEF JAM!

Sheek Louch, a member of the Lox/D-Block, has just signed a solo deal with Def Jam records, the rapper revealed this afternoon.

Lucian Grainge, Chairman and CEO of Universal Music Group International out in the UK, will replace Doug Morris as CEO of Universal Music Group (UMG) January 1, 2011. UMG is the parent company of Def Jam and as you may know L.A. Reid is the Chairman of The Island Def Jam Music Group. Multiple sources have confirmed to me that Shyne Po has signed a 7-figure deal with Def Jam.
